Pre-Treat Stains
- Act quickly and avoid rubbing the stain; instead, gently blot the area (dab with cool water).
- Use a clean cloth or dry paper towel to blot the stain immediately after it occurs.
- Avoid bleach, especially on the darker colors, as it will alter colors
- Apply a small amount of a mild detergent, stain remover:
- Natural stain remover like lemon and salt
- For oil-based stains: use a mix of soda and water
- For organic stains (like coffee or wine): use diluted vinegar
Let It Sit
Allow the pre-treatment to sit for 5-10 minutes before washing.
Washing Instructions
- Wash items carefully by hand or use a delicate cycle in the washing machine.
- Use a mild detergent suitable for delicate fabrics. Eco-friendly detergents are best. Avoid bleach and detergents with harsh chemicals, as these can weaken the fabric and cause discoloration.
- Steer clear of fabric softeners, which can coat the fibers and reduce their natural breathability and absorbency.
- Avoid detergents containing Sodium Borate, Sodium Hydroxide, Cellulase, Protease, and Amylase.
- Use cold or lukewarm water (30- 40°C/86-104°F); hot water may cause shrinkage.
Washing Tips
- Do not rub or scrub the items.
- Place items in a mesh bag to reduce friction during machine washing.
- Avoid overloading the washing machine or basin.
- Rinse carefully; do not twist the fabric, as this can cause damage.
- If needed, repeat the washing process, especially for hand-washed items.
Drying Instructions
- Remove items promptly from the washing machine or allow them to sit on a towel for water to drip off.
- Give linens a gentle shake to restore their original shape.
- Air drying is the best option for linen. Hang linens indoors or outdoors away from direct sunlight to prevent fading.
- Tumble drying: Use low heat and remove while slightly damp to avoid stiffness and shrinkage.
Ironing
- Iron while damp: Use medium to high heat with steam. Iron on the reverse side to protect the texture and color.
- Embrace natural wrinkles: Linen’s relaxed look is part of its charm. Smooth with your hands if you prefer a casual finish.
Storage Tips
- Store clean and dry: Moisture can lead to mildew.
- Use breathable containers: Cotton bags or open shelves are ideal. Avoid plastic.
- Rotate usage: Helps linens wear evenly and stay fresh.
By following these care instructions, you can keep your dining linen looking fresh and beautiful for years to come!
